Fatigue & Low Energy

Persistent fatigue can affect daily life and has many possible contributors, from sleep and stress to medical conditions or medication effects.

Educational information—not a diagnosis.

Symptoms and health measurements can have many possible explanations. Primary care can help coordinate appropriate screening, monitoring, and next steps, but this page cannot diagnose a condition or replace individual medical advice.

A clearer place to start.

Fatigue is more than simply being tired after a busy day. It can mean ongoing low energy, reduced stamina, or feeling unrefreshed after rest. Because many physical and emotional factors can contribute, it is worth discussing a pattern that persists or changes your usual functioning.

When to bring it up.

  • Fatigue that lasts for several weeks, is getting worse, or interferes with work, relationships, or daily activities.
  • Sleep changes, snoring, mood changes, pain, infection symptoms, or a recent medication change.
  • Low energy along with weight changes, temperature sensitivity, digestive symptoms, or changes in menstrual patterns.
